The state launch is mostly inaccessible because of low water, so we ended up putting my pontoon boat in at Deer Lake Resort for an afternoon trolling around the perimeter. We had one downrigger set near the bottom in 40-60 feet of water (constantly adjusting) with a rainbow trout colored rapala, jointed, and another downrigger set at 25 feet with a wedding ring and smiley blade attractors. A couple of sub 16 inch rainbow trout on the shallow set rod to show for our troubles, but it was a beautiful day. Very few boats, water temperatures between 60-62° at the surface. Marked giant schools of fish all along the eastern edge, just South of the Narrows.
