After struggling with the wind and poor fishing on Merwin, we decided to check out Yale Reservoir. Yale has huge numbers of kokanee, albeit smaller than Merwin. Last year I noted the fish had gotten into the 12" ranger which is definitely acceptable in my book.

Gringo Pescador, Robbie, and I were fishing with Luke and Adam. Yale was getting the same winds that Merwin had, however, we ran down lake toward the dam and managed to find an area that was blocked from most of the wind. We again ran out seven lines and trolled for a couple of hours.

The results were the same as Merwin - caught a couple, lost a couple. So slow action for both lakes. All it did was wet my appetite for another trip!
