This post is a little late, but we fished Newman in the afternoon last Saturday. Didn't find too many fish, but gave the day a 3 due to catching my first muskie. I caught it on a black and blue jig while working the pads for bass. Hooked up on it about 8 feet from the boat, and enjoyed every second of that wild ride to the net. Also, my cousin's son found some broken off braided line laying in the pads. While retrieving a good 50' of line to get it out of the water by hand, he got to the end of it only to find a 4 lb 8 oz LMB attached to it! She apparently broke someone off earlier, and still had the jig stuck down in her. We removed the jig, revived her and she swam away just fine.
