I went to Lake Cassidy again after morning showers. Hit lake at 3pm and fished until 6:30pm. I tried right by boat launch pads to left and had two hits on top water perch rapala right away...missed them but action! Lake was calm on West side and saw one truck in parking lot. I got my first fish about 10 minutes in bass 9" he hit it when it wasn't moving and not twitched for a while. They were holding in back of pads close to shore...but 2nd bass was out deeper by first dock to left of boat launch. Caught two there and third later after I trolled a bit. So rained some on me lightly and had my rain gear so no worries. Decided after 3rd fish to run down the lake to the left to shallower areas and since I was going that way trolled my perch minnow...come out of pads, cast backwards...let a little extra line out turn trolling motor onto 2 and 10 seconds later FISH ON! Trout by the wiggle...got him in 10" Trout...took photos let him go...make cast let out line trolling motor to 2 go 20 seconds FISH ON! 11" Trout this time. Yep trout fish is hard.

Had a good day ended up in 3 hours getting 9 fish 5 bass and 4 trout. And survived a big squall and downpour thought it might hail at one point. Quit early as I had plans. But got lots of hits, bumps, rolls, swirls, and taps. Even got last bass not paying attention and noticed my lure was swimming to the left...He was hooked well.

All fish catch photoed and released.

I love throwing tiny buzzbaits in that lake, weeds out the super dinks but still tons of action! Rapalas on that lake can get ridiculous....so much fun to play around there!

Had any luck bottom fishing there? I get some 12" on buzz baits there but top water minnows get me crappie, bluegill, bass and trout. Wind is what usually gets me after work there so tend to not fish the east side that much...but this year added a motor to my small boat so can get around quicker and not have to row into the wind to come home.

Senkos work well as the bottom is pretty muddy. If you can establish depth of mud you can rig a worm up on a drop shot and fish it "on the bottom" that way. Typically for me it's buzzbait, spinnerbait, jerkbait or Senko in that lake.

Those were actually my first trout ever from Lake Cassidy been fishing there since late 80's never go for trout but think by blind luck in that time would of had one. Caught lots while bass fishing at other lakes.
