First fishing Lake Stevens. Wow this tiny parking lot has a lot of rigs out. Inspected the ramps and docks first.

Wasn't sure where to go, but I figure I'll head towards the north end and see what happens. As I'm motoring away, I see all the boats out on the water and to me, seems to be pretty busy. Looks like lots of trollers.

As I'm getting near the top, I see a boat way to the right, so I head a bit to the left to give them lots of room to fish. Several hundred yards at least.

I quickly notice how clear the water is at this area. The bottom was all rocky too. Looked like smallmouth heaven. I'm working the bank and a couple of docks. Taking my time. I get a bump from a 12" SMB on my swimbait, but miss. I don't know, maybe I was fishing for about 20-30 mins in this area, wasn't really tracking time.

I hear a boat coming up behind me. I turn and see it's the boat I spotted earlier. Then these 2 jerkoff go around me and cut me off within a baseball throw. Don't know how close they fished before they decided to jerk each other off, but with bites just from small bass, I looked at my map to see what other spots might be productive.

On the drive up to the lake, the shoreline looked very fishy, so I figure that would be a good area to try. As I'm boating towards the south east side of the lake, I saw a couple of boats fishing. 1 for bass and 1 trolling . I keep going a bit more south and start working the shoreline. There doesn't appear to be anyone in this section of the lake.

I make a cast with my DS in between 2 docks. There's spider webs all up in there. Looks perfect. As I'm breaking through the web and jigging. I see my line swim under the dock. Set the hook and BAM! First fish on of the day. Fiesty bugger. Had me wrapped up around the pilings a few times. It jumped under the dock and my line got caught on something along the front edge of the dock on the bottom side. Swung rod opposite direction and thankfully it came off. Worked the fish into my net. 1.75#, but was exciting due to the close quarters. 1st fish from Lake Stevens. Mouth is all jacked up. Looks like it caught a treble hook on both corners recently.

A couple of docks away, I pitched the DS in front of a boat. Nothing. Pitched it on the side of the boat, and felt the bite. Set the hook and it feels like another nice fish. BAM 2.53#. 2 fish in 5 mins, just like that.

Then it was quiet. Felt a few nips here and there. Looked like small bluegills to me. I was using a swimbait on a point and spotted a nice LMB following, but didn't bite. Had to have been at least 3#. I saw it turn back towards the bank, so I started hammering that point/bank. Saw it once more, but it was just roaming.

2 pigeons scared the crap out of me, when I skipped my lure into an empty boat house. They flew out and well, I wasn't expecting that, lol. Caught me a dink along a laydown.

Now I'm near the bottom end of the lake and it's super shallow. Not seeing much activity except for tiny baitfish.

I move out a bite. I'm bouncing my crank off the bottom rocks and such. Nothing. I do see lots of empty beds. I assume they are bass, but don't know. Ooops, just spooked a small SMB. Continue along and I get another 12" . There was hardly any wind, so I was able to see pretty deep. Spotted a couple of deeper beds in ~10' or so and I see a biggun roaming nearby. I burned and hopped and skipped and jiggled so many different lures through that area. I thought I had it with a swimbait and crank. It wacked my swimbait, but didn't connect. It chased my crank, but turned. As I'm doing this, a 2nd big SMB is spotted in the same area. The biggest is the one closest to the bed through. The other just seems to be hang close by roaming doing its' thing. Bah. Gave up on them.

I run a swimbait along side a dock, shade side. BAM! Fish on. It jumps a couple of times and I was horsing it too much I guess, lure broke on the knot. So now there's a SMB with a swimbait/hook in it's mouth. :( . Didn't look that big. Maybe just 14" or so.

Wind starts up and gusty here and there. I'm not getting any more bites in the area, so I decide to head back up north a bit to see if I can find a little bit of cover. I worked a few deep docks. Get a couple of bites, but felt tiny.

Boat to the park area and caught me another 12" and an even smaller dink.

This lake is a lot smaller than it looks. The parking lot was almost empty when I left. The ramp is not level to load my boat. I tried 3 different positions and gave up trying to level my trailer. One wheel was fully submerged and other maybe half. And I'm use to docking with my right, so I can reach over and grab the dock. Instead, I pulled into one of the slips and drove on the trailer.
