I took advantage of Brianna Bruce’s winter special for Lake Stevens pre-derby fishing. Apparently we should have been there the day before because it was slow. Everyone we talked with said it was slow. Kim aka pinkpole had the hot side of the boat (port) and she came home with 5 kokanee and one small cutthroat trout. All caught on Brianna’s gear.
I brought my Tica Ultra-light to drag my Water Wolf camera around and my second rod was Brianna’s gear. I stacked all day. I was first to get a cutthroat (14 inches) right away on the top rod. The water here had a lot of algae floating and it was very dark on the bottom rod where I put the Water Wolf. I only had a few bites after that. Kim let me get a 10 inch kokanee from her (port) side of the boat. I had one cutthroat and one kokanee.
I switched out lures and dodgers a few times on both rods. Then I took off the Water Wolf and put a Dick Nite Pink Splatter dodger with the Wannafish A Lure Mini Sqiddy Thang Pink and putting the Raspberry Tica at the top of the stacked rods. LOL. I was now pinkpole. Any way I got two eleven inch kokanees that way. I brought in the other rod and I had a perch!
We fished about 6am to 1pm. The water was almost 65 degrees. It was cloudy all day with a slight breeze.
Thank you, Brianna, for great time fishing.

Brianna, Pinkpole and Toni? The fish didn't have a chance and we're probably hiding! Any day on the water is good, enjoyed the report Toni.
