6/6/2016 3:28:00 PMI think the low levels and bad fishing may be due to upcoming work at Cowlitz Falls dam. I talked with a local up at Lake Scanewa and he said it had been dumped into Riffe a couple times over the winter due to work on the fish passage. They may be keeping Riffe low for another draining of Lake Scanewa for more work on the fish passage. He said with the low water at Riffe the salmon have not moved up lake, but may have slowed the bite everywhere. Someone here may have better info about the specifics.
I fished Saturday at Scanewa without a bite, but just hung out at the lake on Sunday after getting the low down.
