The Lake Trout fishing has been pretty hot through May. My early June dates weren't quite as good, but it was still consistent. I have been limiting the boat most times out on Lake Trout. The huge fish disappeared out of my catch after the 3rd week in April, but we have been boating nice fish from 3 to 8 pounds. The rare salmon has gone to 7 pounds. The lake trout have come mostly on M-2 flatfish, fished deep and early. I have had the best success centered off of Minneapolis Beach, but ranging all the way from Wapato Point down lake to the 100' contour just up lake of Lake Chelan Shores. For a change of pace the Yacht Club has "bailed me out" when the down lake fishing has been slow. A 00 chrome dodger with an anchovy special (short leader) has worked also. It has actually out fished the Flatfish during the last 2 weeks off of my boat. I have gotten a scattering of silvers and rainbows on shallow ultra lights pulling a small spoon.
