Took the boat to Potholes. Nice day, warm, a little breeze, but not windy. Fuel line broke so ran on the trolling motor all day. Had more to fear from Jet Skiers and boats pulling rafts. Went to Mardon and they said to troll artificial lures. My wife went with spinner and worm. I went artificial. First hookup was mine. A 13" bullhead catfish. Most of the morning was quiet. Then my wife got a hookup. Put on quite a fight. She was thinking it was a monster. Boated it. Nice fat 18" rainbow trout. Next hookup, again my wife. This time a 19" walleye. Called it a day after another hour of quiet. Everything caught off of State Park at edge of first dune.

The Palouse river near Lions Ferry is probably the best known catfish spot. River can be VERY VERY shallow, so be prepared. No deep-V propeller boats should try it. I have had good luck at the mouth of the Walla Walla river near Pasco as well. It is very hit-and-miss here in Washington. Spring months seem to be the best. Watch the video posted on this site.
