Decided to go to Lake Ketchum this morning for something different. Was overcast and a bit chilly with a little bit of a breeze. Ketchum is pretty small, not gas motors allowed, so it doesn't get a lot of fishing pressure. Lake is fairly shallow, mostly around 15 feet with a couple of holes that drop to close to 20. Lots of tall salad in the lake, so it's a bit difficult to fish close to bottom.

Started with a green doc spratley on one line, and an olive woolley bugger on the other. Woolley bugger got most of the action, so switched the other line over to it after a bit.

Action was non-stop from the time I got my lines in until the time I decided I had had enough for the day. Fish were on the small side, maybe around 10 inches. I don't think these can be the fish that were planted back in the spring, they shouldn't be that small still and look as healthy as they did. Makes me wonder if they did an unscheduled plant recently. If it is those fish, they are pretty stunted. Couldn't find any larger fish, I've pulled an occasional 18 incher out of there before. Also had a few small perch bite on the fly. I lost count of how many fish I landed, and I had quite a few long line releases. Even though the fish were small, it was a lot of fun with the constant action. On fish had a nasty gash on his back, looked like maybe he escaped and eagle recently. Also had a few deer come down and watch me fish for a bit. Fun, relaxing morning on the lake. All fish were released to grow a bit.
