I could have rated this day a 4 from a numbers standpoint but I don't feel like rewarding the lake for being a dink factory today. I had some very nice Octobers on this lake back in the 90's but today it just wasn't happening. Had a couple lazy rollers on a tri-wing buzzbait and a boat load of dinks on a small crankbait.

I left the house with only a handful of baits as I wanted to fish a very specific way to hopefully weed out the dinks that are stacked in here, didn't happen. The two shy 2lbers I did catch were not aggressive when they hit, very lethargic and the two rollers that were definitely nicer quality missed on the outer edge of the pads and wouldn't come back or take my follow up bait. I completed one quick lap and decided to seek other waters. I may try again in a couple weeks when the water temps get into the high 50's, hopefully that will move the better fish up.

I was out there yesterday after work 4:15-7pm did the West side and went left from boat launch to where I had gotten fish before...had a few rollers and take part of the minnow but spit it out. (felt then for a second) Nothing big got 5 and lost one that was over 10". Had about 15 swirls, dips, bumps, and bites on the top water minnow. I did spook a couple moving it to fast. Water was like glass...was thinking I should of went to the sunny side by public dock.. I was getting bites only in a small range in the pads...couple in back but mostly in middle for about 4-5 ft wide...tried out front nothing and a ways out from pads nothing. Think couple of bites may have been crappie trying to roll with it. Did have a few hit right away 10" and 8" but rest were being cautious.
