My buddy and I went out to Fourth of July lake today expecting the ice to be off, but we were wrong. The lake had gained 6 inches of ice from the last time I went. We fished the narrows from 8:00 A.M. to 11:30 A.M. Not one single bite in those couple of hours. So we moved to more shallow water and setup there. My buddy tried out something new and in like five minutes fish on. I started to do the same thing and I caught my first fish of the day. My buddy caught two fish. One 19 in. and the other 18 in. I caught one 13 3/4 in. and another 16 inch. The fish bite the bait hard and we really did not have to do much but jig it up and down. It was a good day fishing and I will be coming out again soon.
