Got to the lake around 6:00am, lines in the water by 6:15. Took about 15 minutes to find the Kokanee pod but once we found them triple! Brought all three fish in and started hitting Kokanee consistently around the araetor then hit a few more down towards Purple penit. A few doubles and other times 1 fish at a time.We fished for about 3 1/2 hours and managed to get a limit! We were using Reli Lures Kokanee wedding rings and Kokanee trolling flies trolled behind Arrow flash and double D dodgers dipped with super dipping sauce krill and herring scent and also baited the hooks with shoe peg corn mixed in tuna juice. We were also team fishing with a buddy of ours doing pretty good on the God's Tooth Kokanee rigs as well! What I have found, the fish are biting anywhere from 5 to 20 feet and as the May comes along those fish are going to stay around that depth, until June comes around then I'll run the gear down deeper. It was an good morning on the water, not hot fishing yet but fish are definitely starting to organize!

We offer our own hand tied lures made of the top of the line components to ensure quality and success for Kokanee, Trout, Sockeye and Steelhead.

Yeah there was quite a few, but not to bad. As we get closer to the derby, there's probably going to be 200+ boats out there. But then after a few weeks the fishing will be good and people will have room to troll!

Man! My buddy and I were out there for 4 our 5 hours Saturday morning and didn't get a single bite. We trolled wedding rings, k-fish, kroc spoons..Nothing. Maybe we were too deep, or maybe our leaders were too long from the dodgers/flashers? Nice job!

Yes leaders, bait and scent play a huge roll in Kokanee fishing. But as far as leaders go, on wedding rings we were having pretty good success on our Reli lures kokanee wedding ring and I was running anywhere from 14-16 inches of leader measured from the back hook up to the swivel of your dodger. All fish came in the top 10 feet. Hope this helps!

Thank you! I appreciate that. I will probably shoot an email over. I was definitely off on my set up, after hearing/reading all posts. Our down rigger was not working, so I dropped a deep six diver, followed by a kokanee dodger/flasher (silver), then a 3 foot (10lb fluorocarbon) leader to the spoon/ring/etc. I did about 20-40 pulls on the reel. So I might have been too deep, and the spacing might have been way to big for these fish. I am excited to have my first go with one!

Used one of your 50/50 Elgin Gods Tooth set ups on Sunday with fantastic success.

Hi Josh, I saw that on NWKA glad those worked for you! What was your best leader length on those?
