Three great days in Neah Bay. My friend Brad and I fished our of his 22 foot boat. We travelled out to Blue Dot (way too far!), Swiftsure (just right), and fished the Duncan Rock area as well as points in between and up to Waada Island. The fishing was pretty good. We took home a 40 pound Halibut from Swiftsure and some nice cabezon. Plenty of black sea bass again caught on small jigs and curly tails (white) and light line gear. The halibut was caught in 320 feet of water. Released lots of sub-legal lings. I busted two old halibut poles - one bringing up a octopus from 300 feet, the other at Duncan Rock as I tried to turn a BIG fish that wanted to get back into the rocks. He won, I lost. A good excuse to buy a nice new halibut pole!
