Went out fishing out of deep sea charters for 3 days (8-11 Aug). Salmon fishing was pretty slow. Caught 2 keeper silvers first day and a nice King on the second. The third day was not so good as I landed one undersized shaker king. All in all a good trip. On the salmon trip Tuesday there were 20 people on board with about 8 being young kids. This was evidently their first time ever fishing and like I mentioned earlier the salmon was slow so they were getting pretty bored. The skipper ended up taking the boat to some very hot rockfishing grounds and boy did those kids change. Hooking fish after fish. Kudos to the skipper for doing that as they could have went home with a bad taste of fishing; instead they were all smiles getting off the boat. I highly recommend deep sea charters. I have chartered with just about every boat in their fleet and recommend them all preferably the Slammer w/ skipper Rhett.
