My buddy and I fished the Hollow and had lines in the water by 6:00am. The first fish was in the boat by 6:20. It took humpy gear off the downrigger at 130 feet. Yes deep. I was told by an old timer buddy of mine that the humpies were running deeper than usual this year so I gave that theory a try. Fish came about one every 45 minutes or so, the shallowest fish was taken at 75 feet, the deepest was 150. All said and done we had 5 boated, 4 by yours truly, and my buddy boated one and lost four hooked fish, three of which we saw at the boat. I saw others around us boating fish but it still wasn’t close to great fishing like many of us have experienced in past odd year runs. All of our fish were taken just south of Mukilteo beach in about 400 feet of water and we were marking fish at 130 to 200 feet so that is where we fished. I spoke to a guy who just lost a fish at the boat and he said he was fishing at 22 feet so who really knows. I was also told they are in the Snohomish River thick and my old timer friend has been fishing it regularly catching one right after another until he is ready to keep his 4 and go home. I believe the Stillaguamish opened yesterday. I am curious to know is that was productive. 3 on the smoker as I write this report. Better than none! Good luck all.
