I fished the big jetty at Westport with some friends on 14th and 15th. We arrived a little late on the 14th and the wind was so bad we only stayed out for about two hours. We did see one guy leave with a lingcod though, and another with two black rockfish. We saw about 10 other guys, who all appeared to be skunked.
We tried again on Sunday morning and the wind was even worse. We stayed out for about an hour with no bites, and only saw a couple other people out who also got skunked. The wind/ocean was bad enough on Sunday that all of the charter boats were cancelled and water was spraying over the main crabbing dock (float 20) in places. I had never seen the wind that intense at Westport before.
