Fished all around Sucia Island on the last weekend of Lingcod Season. We were constantly catching little lings and rock fish. My Pops caught a legal 26 incher on saturday in about 90 feet of water on a white jig, 4 oz. lead head.

On Monday, I landed this 30 incher in about 35 feet of water after we were mesmorized by a huge salmon skimming the surface for baitfish. I wasn't paying attention to my rod and then it hit and I thought I was stuck on the bottom at first! It was classic... I had to reel it up out of the rocks right away because we had lost a few lings earlier after they went straight for the bottom. I was using a brown speckled scampi jig which seemed to work the best.

All in all, great weather, seas were good, and the fishing was better!

Excited for the salmon season right around the corner!
