Fished Browns point for a bit today with no luck. Only stayed for about an hour and didnt see anything happen. Im planning on trying The pier at Dash Point tomorrow because i stopped by there today and saw a few fish caught. My only question is about netting the fish.. Do all the nets I saw stay there or were they brought by some of the people who were fishing? Im not sure how i would land a fish way up there on the pier lol. Help or advice would be greatly appreciated! :)

There are no nets that stay there. If your rod is stout enough sometimes we lob it onto the dock. I only did it once when a seal was after my fish. I got it. I carry an extra crab ring that I use for a net. Good luck out there. Several people are nice and will net it for you but sometimes (during the height of the season) everyone is busy.

I have never used a net on the dock with them. Just need to be careful when they are on, I find it best to reel them up right to the surface and get the tip of the rod pointed towards them then you can usually just lift up slowly and bring them in. Low tide is a bit different and you dont have much choice but to reel them up without a net. I have never lost one either way getting them out of the water but have seen alot more lost when reeled up.

When I'm gear fishing I always let people use my crab ring unless I have a fish on. I think just politely asking will get you somewhere unless you ask 'that guy' (no no, not gringo pescador, I'm talking about jackwagons). Not too many jackwagons out there but there are a few.

I've found that if you visit with the people around you and get to know the people you are fishing with that when you get a fish on there is at least one net on its way down and waiting for the fish to settle down and be ready to be netted.
