4/27/2013 11:12:00 PMOk I'll try to cover all those questions, surf perch are easy to catch, I used razor clam necks and Berkeley night crawlers right in the surf. I wade out knee deep in the water and cast out. Drop shot or Carolina rigs work well.

4/29/2013 5:42:00 PMDo you use heavy weights to try and hold it down in one place, or light weights and let the surf move the bait around? Also, how long/heavy of a rod do you use? I keep seeing one group of people advocate fishing heavy (e.g. 6 oz weight, 25 lb test or more), and another advocate going lighter (6-8 lb test).

4/30/2013 12:15:00 AMI am and will always be one of the who believes in going as light as conditions will allow. My setup was a med-light fast action 7'6" st Croix rod and a penn battle 3000 with 8lbs test line. 1 oz weight slowly dragging in with the waves.
