First time fishing for Surf Perch. Went out Friday night caught 1=10". Lost a few. Figured out what not to do, sort of. Went out tonight 8:30-9:30 and caught 5 (1=11"), let 1 go, and missed several. They were biting like crazy! Very soft mouthed. I'm hooked! Used Gulp 3" Rubber Sand Shrimp cut into 1/4's.

Coxral,

Would you mind telling me the time and/or state of the tide as well as how far out you were casting? I'm working on a "Where the hell are they and when do they move?" theory and I could use the extra data.

Hey, sorry this took so long. Followed the tide/lunar table. Both times were the night tide, around 7:30-9PM. The water was kinda dirty, as it is in that area, and I was only out knee deep, and casting about 30-50 feet and letting it drift in. I could see them in the waves going by me! I use tidesforfishing.com this websites is pretty accurate. Good luck.
