9/8/2015 8:51:00 PMWas it a whale or porpoise? I know there's one annnnnoying porpoise that will cruise along boats all day long like right underneath them. Probably gets fed way too much herring from boaters is my guess. A couple weekends ago at Gig Harbor he would not leave our sight, put on a nice aerial show though, kept jumping out of the water 4 or 5 feet out, never seen a porpoise like that one before.

9/9/2015 9:42:00 AMWe were out at Gig Harbor on Monday as well and it was a whale. Surfaced about 30 yards in front of us. There were also porpoise in the area. Lots and lots of bait. Marked fish, but we didn't do well, and many of the boats we questioned did not touch a fish. We also went to the mouth of the Puy to hunt pinks, but it was dead. Weird day!

9/9/2015 10:18:00 AMWe saw a couple porpoise jumping like crazy in front of the boathouse back in mid august when we were out fishing. did not see any whales. just those darn sharks!
