So this morning I headed out to the wallace river , arrived at 6:30 and was fishing by 7:00........Not expecting much seeing how early it is.......First cast I hit a nice 9 lb hatchery hen.....Bonked her then a few casts later hit a nice 8-9 lb buck......released him and not more than 5 casts later hit another buck.....this one going 12lbs or so......released him also.......fished another hour , hit 3 more fish and finally bonked the last one for my limit for the day.......Great weather and fishing conditions..........hope this is a sign for the rest of the winter steelhead season

Did not hit one........saw a few coho and about 50 chums but only hooked the steelhead.......rather have steelhead than old boot silvers or nasty dark chums anyday

your saying you caught 6 steelhead on the wallace in one day. i really dont believe that. ive fished that river for a couple of years and my dad has fished it for many years and we have never heard of anyone catching that many in one day

You know I dont blame you...........before yesterday i had never even limited on the wallace before..............I think the high water just pushed a ton of fish up and from there , they dont have a lot further to go

The may creek hole.....its the creek below the hatchery but above the spot you can see from the hwy...Walk into the hatchery and down stream from the intake....you will see a creek on the left hand side.........stay to the right of the river and cast through the hole from the creek down

hey hottshott if you get to everett in half a hour it would take you another 45 min or so but if i were you i would take the time to go out there thats the first time anyone has probably ever caught that many steelhead in one on the wallace
