Sorry for the late report. I have been very busy with work and sports. This steelhead was my first which is why I gave it a 5. The fish was 29 inches long. I did not weigh it however. Many people caught steelhead that day. I started fishing around 4:50 and ended around 2:30 in the afternoon. Besides the steelhead, I lost a very good sized spring Chinook at the boat. Until about 10 or 11 in the morning, there was a solid overcast with cool conditions. All in all, it was a very good day of fishing.

The old rule of the thumb is a 30 incher will weigh 10 pounds - And, add or subtract a pound in each direction - thus your fish was probably about 9 pounds. Nice catch. Summer steelies are a great fish.

I caught it at about 11:30 am using cured purple shrimp as bait.
