This report is for a portion of the river below Long Lake. I think this is in Stevens County but I am not sure. It is a private church camp ground below the dam. My wife and I put our float tubes in the river around 4:00pm and we only fished until 6:00pm because my wife got cold. First cast produced a 15 inch sm and that was the smallest bass of the 2 hour trip. We caught and released a total of 10 sm and 2 were just under 4 lbs. We used Storm med. depth crank baits. I wish I could have taken photos but I dont take my camera on the tube for obvious reasons. This stretch of river is very secluded and the wildlife was amazing. For 2 hours of fishing this was a fantastic trip.

hmm, maybe i'll have to try it on that side of the dam sometime. Its pretty frustrating ttyingto find a decent spot to catch some quality btyingclose to spokane from shore,or float tube. I suppose sooner or later I will figure it out. I was spoiled I grew up and recently moved from one of the top ten bass lakes in WI. and i miss it llol

It is a pretty far drive from Spokane about 40 miles but I will be back there Wed afternoon. You could probably park on the HWY and walk down the hill near the bridge. The bridge is about 3/4 of a mile upstream from where the church campg is. Also, if you continue further towards Reardan to Little Falls Dam you can catch walleye. Being from Wisconsin you probably appreciate walleye fishing. The stretch of river above Little Falls is great for SM and below it is great for walleye and an ocassional trout. Go get em and good luck!

ToadWater - Are you talking about the area below the bridge before you get to little falls road?

riprap101: I take hwy 291 to the end and if you make a left (I think that is Hwy 231) towards Reardan there is a bridge there. The area I fished is downstream about 3/4 of a mile. There is also a little public park across the bridge right below Long Lake dam. There are a lot of rocks and trees in the water. It is really prime smallmouth water. Have you ever fished that area?
