Fished in the morning and landed my first King (Pics later), nice chrome, approx. 30" and about 20#. Called up Jens and he sounded very jealous. It was crowded, saw lots of pink caught and some few silvers caught, 1 nice size about 10#. Also saw Kings caught, but was dark color and they were big, probably around 30#s. Met with Jens and his son Trenton later in the evening around 7pm, and Jens already had a King(starting to change color) and I would guess around 15-20#s. He caught it on his third cast. Now his son Trenton hooked a nice chrome, that was jumping out of the water 4-5 times and Trenton held on. I was worried he was going to lose it, but then Jen's used my net and netted the nice chrome silver, probably around 12-15#s, it was a native and Jens released it back. I have to say I was very impressed with Trenton's handling of that fish, most people would of lost that fish from trying to bring it in too fast. I did hook another fish, it felt really big, got it close to the rocks but the fish was never visible and Jen's was not able to net it and it came off. Hmmm, I'm thinking what is going on, he was able to net his son's fish, but lose mine. Is he really my friend? I have to admit I did lose one of his after that, it was a huge king also, he lost it as it was coming up, it's payback buddy. We hooked into several more, but not able to land them. Overall it was an exceptional day and evening for me. We were using small black corkies and mix yarns.

Good job! I have yet to catch a king in a river. Of course I really target what there are the most of...pink. Were you at the handicap hole?

LOL- I was jealous!! Your pig never came up for me to net it, I'll admit it was big..Maybe you shouldn't be using those size 4 hooks?? I don't know about anyone else, but I find it hard to land someone else's fish while continuing to fish at the same time like you were, Trenton was getting mad at you.... If you would have used both hands kinghunter, I would have caught the biggest fish in my life...I still love you though.

You can keep wild silvers in the Nisqually. The only wild fish that you have to release are Chinooks. I found that out the hard way two years ago after letting a 10#er go.
