I had some time off today so I decided to give the combat salmon fishing a rest and spend some quiet time with nature for a change. Headed out to my favorite spot on middle fork snoqualmie off exit 34. Overcast and the river was real low. The first picture is a tree right behind one of my favorite holes. The root ball was at least 15 feet tall and the tree was probably 125 feet tall when it stood. It wasn't there last year, it showed up after the floods. Thats a lot of power from a river that today was only 1-3 ft deep in most places. I used dick nites in chrome and green, and caddis flies with small split shots. The fish are real colorful in the river, it's too bad their growth is so stunted. 8" fish is big for this part of the river, with most 5-6". I used 6lb flouro. No one else on the river at all, just how I wanted it. Just me and the fish.

you're welcome. the camera doesn't do the fish justice. The tops of them were actually a teal green color, same as the water, and the lower jaw slash was bright orange. I just wish they were bigger.

Nice wild jewel, I frequented the Snoq forks a lot this summer with the 3 weight, wading boots and swim trunks.
