Fished the Pend Orielle River today hoping for some good fall pike action. Starting fishing just south of the mouth of Davis Creek. First fish came at 8 a.m. which was the largemouth pictures which went 3 lbs 5 oz. We caught 3 fish by 9 a.m. and thought it was going to be an amazing day. It was definately a cold day on the river today with lots of wind. Water temps ranged from 54-59 degrees. We target the drop offs from 5-10 feet and caught all fish on some form of swimbait. The most action came of a pike printed boot tail from Storm. Total we caught 2 lmb and 4 pike. Biggest pike was 8# and biggest bass was 3 lbs 5 oz. I missed 4 or 5 hook ups on bass buried in the weeds using a watermelon senco. Probably my last trip to the river this year. I can't wait until next spring.

Hey jbd482. Sorry I'm so late getting back to ya. They started dropping the water level above the dam around the last day of september. My father in law was at the family cabin in priest river and said the water was dropping around 6" a day from october 1st-4th. I'm not sure how high the water is below the dam now but we had a hard time finding the channel to navigate up and down the river. Most areas were only 1-3' deep. We found the deepest water closest to the docks just south of davis creek.

Great posting ! Looks like you had a good time. I know water level can be a little spooky with the dead heads.
