65 lb. Test??? Wow! What were you using? Braided rope? LOL

Sorry you lost the fish though, sounds like it was a beauty!

Your mainline broke but not your leader? or are you tying direct using no leader? Have you used braid for long? Cause if you dont know how to tie the right knots for braid it will just come undone. Not break just come undone.

breaking 65lb line on a salmon in the puke is an impressive feat... are you sure he didn't wrap you up in a tree or something? I have lost some genius bass who took my lure then tied it to a tree.

Oh yeah I think I probably cut one of your snags out of the river last year... 1 guy leaves behind 65lb test and it becomes a snag\breakoff fest for everyone else around that snag, I tend to run 20 mono and its more than plenty...

Seriously though braided line? Ever notice folks around you using mono tend to seem kinda rude to you or at least give you a glare from time to time? FYI, most braided line will cut through thier mono without much effort just as it is known to eat into eye lids on your pole. You'll probably even hear them call out in a general way, god I hate you guys using spider-wire, though honestly there are more brands than just spider-wire out there that cause the same issues. Please do fish the lower river and keep the heavy and braided line out of the upper river so I can lose less gear this year :-)
