Had to take advantage of what's left of the nice weather this month and maybe this year so I took the afternoon off and headed up to the POR for what may be my last trip this year. Put in at Cusick, tossed a white chatterbait around the docks and nailed a little 4lb Pike on my second cast. Thought I had more gas in the boat but only had 1/4 tank so I just dinked around Usk, Davis and down towards Dalkena, water temps were in the mid 50's, very nice with no wind! Decided to make this a Bass trip, found some bass along the weed lines down by Usk, so I started tossing a Perch crankbait, had allot of followers but the fish didn't seem fast enough to nail the crankbait so I switched to my "old faithful" Zoom trick worm, tossed it upstream and allowed it to drift down towards the fish and nailed about a half dozen bass. Picked up a nice 4.8 LMB and quite a few smallie's in the 2-3lb range, a good bass outing to maybe end the season! Sorry about the pic's, my photographer was at home sick...

Do you ever top water your trick worms? Or do you fish em' with a weight? I have some trick worms but have only tried em' a couple times with no set-ups. Any tips would be appreciated.

Nice fish and good report. Cant wait to go back up, but must wait for my hunting buds to bag their deer.
