Fished the Tournament on the PO River that put in at the Morton slew access boat launch. Blast off was more like a snail race as it was too foggy to get up on plane. We went down river while everyone else headed to the lake. We had fished it last Saterday and most of our patterns were still holding up. First we went straigh to the rock wall that we fished the week before, dropshotting a vertical wall that had shelves at about 25 and 40 feet deep. My pard got the first fish in the boat drop shoting a Sink-N-Fool tail before i even had a line in the water, I neted a nice small mouth for him that turned out to be big fish of the day at just over 3 lb.. I final got my drop shot rigged and got a few keeper size fish. After about 2 hours the fog had lifted and the bite at the rock wall had slowed way down so we headed down river in a nasty cold rain to the bolder field we found in the main river channel that we also fished last week. The first cast there with my deep diving Rebel craw crankbait, I stuck the second biggest fish on the day at just under 3 lb. We cranked the bolders in the current in about 10 to 14 ft of water and got quite a few more fish in the 2 lb range and go it to start culling the dinks. My rebel craw was just killing em and I was getting about 3 fish to 1 on it, compaired to the crank my pard was throwing, some kind of craw crasnk also. After we drifted this we went down to the logs that we had go a few on last week and got no fish there. So back up to the bolders and drifted it one more time got a few more fish on cranks but the bite was alot slower then it had been. After a a few more fish the bite stoppe and i was thinking of what to do next when we drifted over a big bolder that I could see a ton of fish on on the sonar and I said why dont we try dropshoting them? Well we started draging Sink-N-Fools on the drop shot rig with the current and started picking up some really nice fish. We were using a octopuss hook with about the last 3" of a Sink-N-Fool bait nose hooked with a bullet weight pinched to the line so it will just slide off if the weight gets hug up.
It turned out to be one of the best bites all day filling out our limits with 2 lb average fish, This is some thing I plan to do a lot more in the future, Anyway we did good in the tourney, but didn't win it we ended up 3rd and 4th overall on the day.I thought we had a shot at it till some guy brought in a bag with a 5 lb Largemouth a 4 lb. Smally and almost 17 pounds on the day. We missed 2nd place by just a few oz. though so it was still a good day. Didn't take a camera in the rain so no pixs.

Geeeeeeess! i just reread my post and sorry for all the typos. Guess I need to proof read my posts :)
Basser90 to answer ur question no, although they all went to the lake I saw most all the boats back in the river by early afternoon and the guy that won fished the river upstream as far as I could tell, but he was a little tight lipped about where he got his toads.
