I went to the grande ronde again today. The water was much higher than it was 2 weeks ago and river flow was around 8000 cfs, water clarity was about 1ft. I fished by the hatchery, I caught 1 fish today, I was using a 1/4 in pink and white jig and bobber, the fish was 28.5 inches but pretty dark. The fish counter said he counted only 8 fish when I left around 1:30 but I guess that was better than the day before. I want to go back on friday but that was a little muddy for my liking and its supposed to rain a little tomorrow and have some thunder storms friday morning. Today was absolutely beautiful, I saw 2 heards of elk on the hillside, one of the heards had to have had atleast 30 elk and as I was about to leave 3 huge turkeys flew directly overhead and landed on the opposite bank of the grande ronde... They may not have been huge but I have never seen a turkey in the wild before today.
