I wasn't sure that "I" (as in "my wife") wanted more humpies to smoke, but 1 or 2 hens would be nice for the eggs, so I leasurely headed out to the river around 9:30. Well....it only took about 15 minutes to get those 2 hens, so I continued C&R for a while, and just couldn't keep them off the hook. 2 casts, 2 fish. then 4 casts, 3 fish...it was a blast. I finally decided to go ahead and keep 4, since they just kept throwing themselves at me. 10 fish to the bank, several more with long range releases. Done fishing by 11:30.
Not as bright as 2 weeks ago, but most were still pretty nice fish. The brightest will go on the grill later.
Fishing from the bank in the big bend area with pink spoons and pink jigs....they liked both.

If you look at a map it becomes obvious. It is the big westward bend in the river from downtown Mt. Vernon to the I-5 bridge. Parking and access can sometimes be a challange. I usually fish the inside, but I see plenty of people fishing the outside of the bend.
