I read that the river is gonna close on the 16th so I figured I would go down one last time. There a few people down there trying to find a steelhead before it closes also. We all had the same results- no fish. I started at the treatment plant, and fish down about a mile, casting at every nook and cranny the river had to offer. Maybe next year! There were chum around still.

I have been going down south to fish still. It is hard to post after a long day, then having to work the next morning. My buddy and I start with pink first, then if it gets sunny enough we will throw nightmare. The red has some shine to it,(new age chenille) which makes for a nice variation of the pink body I usually tie. Also, I usually have a white head, but I was to lazy to grab my jig box. The pink/white catches the most fish by far though. I tied a bunch of different colors, but always end up back on those two colors.

It is so sad how poor the steelhead fishing has become on the Puyallup and Carbon rivers. They are not even a shadow of what they once were back in the 80's and before.
