Heard Hawg quest show yesterday was on the cowlitz river for winter runs but unfortunately I missed it but who cares because I made my own hawg quest. Hooked 2 landed a 13.76lb chrome summer steelhead on a silver spoon, I thought it was a springer by how it bit and fought. Lost one on a nightmare jig, jumped like 6 times and spit the hook about 5 feet in mid air. Water rose about 6 inches yesterday really turning on the bite. Saw 5 steelhead and 7 springers hooked, some really nice looking ones, too. Nce day out as well and not too many people except I heard blue ck was crowded.

Yeah I was at barrier and I am not good at posting pics so my advice is to look up "nightmare jig" in google images like gringo said.

Not yet rocky, still learning but for only fishing there since may and already have hooked 3 steelhead is not bad for me. I normally fish blue creek but with the slide I have had to change my fishing ground and amazed by the barrier dam fishing.

Great report! Been a couple years since I've been down to the Barrier Dam, but I've always done well there. Never came home empty handed!
