Got a late start yesterday (family fishing day) and hit the Snoho. We launched in town during the car show (got lucky on a parking spot at launch) and headed up past the pilchuck.. we anchored up and casted Dick Nites at a known hole that was holding some coho.. those coho are still playing hard to get in there but after a little bit my wee size 50/50 got slammed.. took a few minutes to get it to the surface and low and behold.. a monster chum! after a pretty fun and frantic battle we got it to the boat.. he measured 18.5 on the scale and the dick nite was practically in its throat..

we fished this hole for a bit longer and decided to adventure up river during low tide.. Now, i DO know what i am doing, i knew it would be shallow but we ( my family ) is all about adventure!! sop we inched up the skinny water and finally i had to jump out and Viking style pull my boat up river in about 3 inches of water.. only for about 50 yrd or less.. i do this because know i can.. :) hahaha.. fun day!!!

pics:
1. monster chum all snaggle toothed and all.. bad lighting.. sorry..
2. true viking adventurer.. :) we got where we wanted to get, the corner beachy spot mid island where we actually just hung out on the beach for a bit and built dinosaur skeletons from drifted wood..

fun day! Coho are still tough in the Snoho.. but the battle of a monster chum made the day top notch!

Is that stretch of river real shallow, all the way across? A picture is deceiving, looks like the middle is much deeper, guess not.

It deep enough to run up with an outboard on the other side, with a spotter. We had 16 ' with 40 hp. We got as far as the elephant bone yard.

yeah the deeper channel is on the far left but u still have to come across the middle to get down that right fork, the middle is super shallow too. basically u have a couple routes at super low tide. its tricky for sure. I got out mostly because I wanted to show my son how big and strong his dad was.. haha.. part of the adventure we will remember.. :)

Do you eat the Chum? I have tried a couple and did not care for the taste. Even dime bright they seemed much more oily and funky tasting....
