10/1/2012 2:53:00 PMOneshot, the nets are even farther upriver than 112th. There's an entire gauntlet just below the 112th bridge and a couple nets up above the bridge too. Not sure how far upriver it goes.

I fortunately work right near the Mouth of the Duwamish and I can tell you without any doubt that the nets have been in right at the Mouth every single day since last week. Every morning I come into work and the nets are stretched half way across the Mouth of the Duwamish. They were also stretched out in the bay all last week. Well over 400 yards of net were stretch across the bay plus at least another 50 yards on either side of the Mouth of the Duwamish. They were in today as well, it is starting to make me wonder what kind of deals they have in place with the State and the WDFW!

10/2/2012 8:51:00 AMI love the netting operation. Besides the many other reasons I can think of there are 3 main reasons.
1. It produces tax dollars. (Natives buy fuel then net the fish and sell them on reservations. People buy fuel to get them to the reservations to buy the fish)
2. It decreases global warming.(Natives fill the back of pickup trucks with ice to keep their beers and fish cold while for sale in the parking lot of the casino. All the ice melts and turns to very cold ground water, therefore lowering the temp. of local streams and rivers.)
3. It helps people with Gambling Addictions (people that would have spent that $10 bucks in a casino often buy a fish out in the parking lot instead and it reduces the amount they loose on gambling that night.
