Got to the river at dark at the highway hole. Easy spot to fish since I am in the market for some new waders after last weeks adventure. Just as light started to creep up I started fishing eggs under a float. Not suspending them, actaully fishing them bouncing along the bottom but using the float to drag them down the river and use as kind of a strike indicator. Second cast float dropped, went to set the hook and there was a huge bow in my line, reeled up and laid into it again and firetruck on! Engine 49 put up quite the fight for an early morning battle. Caught 6 more darker fish (all fished released), seen some chromers jump but couldn't get any hits. Switched to twitching jigs, fouled hooked and realesed one. That was enough of that. Then I seen mr snagger on the other side of the river. Called the game warden. Decided to pack up and hit the sky, stopped at the sultan and seen one guy with a NASTY chum on the bank. And then I got hungry. Probably gonna hit it again tomorrow. Fish are there just gotta figure out how to get the chrome ones a little more bitey. Was still a good crisp octobeer morning for catching fish! If anyone wants to hit the wallace this week let me know!

How are you accessing the river? I'd assume parking at the boat launch and wading up river?

The river is in great shape, maybe even a little low. The hatchery is dead!

Saw and caught fish on Sat / Sun, but didnt see any caught today (Monday), down stream less than a mile from the hatchery., The holding pens are loaded. but I didnt see a single fish roll between 8AM and 1PM when we left. I am sure there are some but I didnt see near the numbers I saw on Saturday.

Good Luck guys
