3/25/2013 5:49:00 PMThe O.P. is a special place, and the same can be said for its rivers and the fish that return to them. With the closure of all Puget Sound tributaries, the Olympic Peninsula is pretty much the only show in town for wild steelhead. If some time in the future these runs start to experience similar declines such as those that resulted in the closure of Puget Sound tributaries, than we are pretty much left with nowhere else to fall back on. Regardless of what the natives are doing (as far as netting is concerned), please, please, treat these fish with respect and practice catch and release. You can still enjoy them without intentionally killing / harvesting them.
