While fishing the Cowlitz River between the Cowlitz River Dam and Riffe Lake we caught many Kokane in the 10" to 16" range trolling the river with 00 dodgers and wedding ring spinners tipped with very small salad shrimp and shrimp flavored marshmellows. The Kokane seemd to gobble them up. It was a very beautiful day on the river and we had a blast.

Thank you for the report. Nice mess of fish but they maybe coho's as there aren't any landlocked sockeye there. http://wdfw.wa.gov/fishing/washington/750/ The water you fished in is considered Mayfield Lake (reservoir).

actually according to his hot spots he was fishing the upper Riffe lake below Scanawa. I have fished in there before and the water temp drops about 10 degrees as you travel up and is good fishing! Great job on the silvers!!

yes, they would be silvers, aka coho. Changed species on report. Nice mess-o-fish!
