I headed out to my favorite humpy spot hoping to hook a few silvers too. No luck on coho but the humpies are still thick and VERY easy to catch. Some colors worked better than others but overall, they aren't picky. After banging lots of jigs on rocks, it became obvious that the most durable powder paint is gold. That's cool because it's one of my favs. (Gold & black is killer for many species of fish.) For hooks, it's hard to beat Owner 2X 2/0 super needle point. I've used a lot of different types, and these are my favorite for big fish. (Model #5316-121) Today I'm going to spool up with some 50 lb high-visibility main line. Oh, I should also mention swivels -- avoid split rings if you can. They are nothing but trouble. I've bent two out on snags, and that's not the way it's supposed to work. Welded rings are MUCH stronger. (That's why Dick Nite uses them.)
