Fished the Skok on Saturday from O'dark thirty to Noon. Morning started off fine. We were the first ones down there so we took our choice of sweet spots in the hole. Everything was good up until about 9am when everyone and their mother started showing up. Before we knew it, it was packed elbow to elbow. There were a few guys who followed the basic etiquette, but most of the people who showed up were the kind of yahoos you don't want to fish next to. Had to reclaim my spot multiple times because the second I stepped back to land a fish or tie up a new leader, someone would just walk into my spot. I wasn't playing that game and wasn't shy about respectfully telling them that I had been in that spot all morning and I would be right back in that spot in a minute. Luckily there weren't any issues and they moved when I came back.

Ended up limiting by 10'ish and waited another 90 minutes or so for my buddy to finish up. I went home with 4 good size chum. A buck and 3 hens. All nice and bright, and the hens had HUGE skeins. Besides the crowd, it was a good morning of fishing.

And be ready to hear gunshots very close to you. They are hunting pheasant in the area and some of the bird shot was hitting the tops of the trees on our side of the river.

several years ago me and a friend were fishing the elwah. There was a pretty good crowd there then.one yokel in chestwaders walked out in front of my friend,.Brian asked him to move and he turned around and gave him the one finger howdy do.He wasn't out far enough because brian walked up behind him and politely grabbed him by the back of his shirt and the bottom of his waders, picked him up,turned him upside down and lowered him into the river........He moved.

Believe me, I felt like doing something similar a couple times. There is this younger Russian guy and it's either his dad or grandpa that comes with him. Well the older guy never speaks a word of english and is notorious for slipping into your spot...and I know the younger one is telling him to do it because you can tell the older guy is hesitant, but the younger guy gets on him until he does it. Well I wasn't having it. I would come right back to my spot and stand right on top of him until he would move...never went past that, and I'm not a physical guy unless it's in self defense...so luckily he took the hint and moved....but still, come on! If a guys steps away to land a fish or tie a leader, at least say something like "hey, I'm gonna slide into your spot until you get back". Show some common courtesy...ok, rant over. LOL

I'm not too physical either, but my buddy can be.You'd think people would be smart enough not to tick off a guy who's 6'6",300 lbs. and not fat.
