Dead, no fish, we all got there and left within an hour b/c it was so dead. No one caught anything. The natives netted the entire river the night before all the way to the mouth of the river. Waste of time.

Yes, it was really slow. Went 1/3 on eggs. Didn't see any fish in Purdy Creek, above the deadline. Usually you'd see a bunch of them rolling.

I stopped by for a look a few days ago. saw some upriver of hunter farms but figured their would be many more people then fish for the opener.

I quit fishing this a few years ago for kings because of this sort of thing. Either too many fisherman, lack of fish, or too many nets, etc. Know fish will show and the crowds will show as well at some point. Good luck to all that venture out.

I saw five landed. Four were dark "natives" which went back and one was a fairly bright clipped fish. Today was a far cry from last year's opener for sure.

if you go to the wdfw hatchery reports you will see the hatchery recieved 900+ fish back. This time last year there was 9 fish back. The natives didnt net the night before, the recent rain made the fish jet straight up to the hatchery.

schu7498 we went up to the hatchery after leaving the disappointed skok and some guy came up and was asking about our luck at the skok and we said none cause it was netted, and he concurred saying they brought in a count of 299 salmon hung around for about 3mins and left when is the madness going to stop. im going to start saving my pennies and get a boat at least i dont have to worry about effin tribal nets

There was a cop on the banks above the bridge giving everyone a warning and letting people know they need to get a tribal pass to walk or leave your gear on there land. He said he personally went down to make sure they had there nets out at 7:30 am.
