I fished Snoho above Pilchuk on Thursday. It was real slow. Almost dead. Beautiful weather. Real high tide. Saw no rollers. Caught 1 small steelhead with clipped fin. Let it go. Nobody else had more than 1 and that was rare. It's stiil early compared to last year.

When did the coho start to come in last year?

I was fishing for Pinks during September, then saw some Silvers caught in the lower river about this time. They were 8 to 10 lbs. then. They took over for the Pinks October 1st.
I can see them on my fish finder in the deep hole under the railroad bridge above town. I can't see them in the deeper runs above that point so I'd say they aren't there in numbers yet. Smolts feeding on the surface all over, small trout and young steehead too. Last year I didn't see those. Maybe cause the salmon scared them out.
