Got to the river at 8:30 hoping to fish the outgoing tide. The water was high and there were a decent number of fish surfacing. Started with jigs as there wasn't much current to drift my bait. By 9am there were no fish surfacing. When the current picked up switched to drifting eggs. Fished until 12:30 without so much as a hit. My partner and I were about ready to pack it up when I hooked a small hen. Decided to see if the bite was changing. Not too much later I hooked a good sized fish, but a short run and a few head shakes gave me back my gear without so much as a glimpse. Stuck it out for a while longer, but that was about it. Quit at 1:30 after using up the majority of the bait. I had higher hopes for today, so was disappointed in the lack of action. At least I didn't leave empty handed.

Nicely done Mr. consistency. Always can count on you to get fish. Where do you usually fish? 112th?

After a very slow start to my season with a lot of blank trips I'm at least getting a little action now (only in the last week really). Be persistent and they'll come. I usually fish at 112th, but move around when I have the time. The type of water I'm fishing will dictate what I throw at them, but I'm far from an expert and do a lot of experimenting. Tight lines.
