Hit the Duwamish in Allentown this morning at first light with drsafl17. Bounced a Dike Nite first. After a few casts I decided to change up and bounce my home cured eggs instead. Good choice! Three casts in I hooked a feisty little chrome hen (4-5 lbs). She came out of the water several times and made several valiant runs before I tired her out and coaxed her into the net. Marked her on my card and re-baited. Next cast a little Coho Jack nails my eggs mid-drift. I think I laughed out loud when it jumped and made a run for it. Even so it took me a couple minute to get the mini-brute on the bank. A few casts later I lost a good size chrome beauty when it jumped and came undone. Then lost a second Jack that grabbed my bait, but some how eluded the hook and spit the bait when it went aerial. Two or three casts later I landed a second slightly larger chrome hen (5-6 lbs). All in all it was a great morning. Ended up 3/5 with two adults and one Jack on the bank before the bite died. Drsafl17 had some bites, but no hook-ups. I'm really mystified how sometimes you can be fishing just a few feet away from each other using the same gear and bait and one guy will be killing it and the next guy not so much. I'm convinced there is some skilled involved, but I'm also certain there was a whole lot of luck in play today! Either way, looking forward to getting out and trying again. Tight lines!

BentRod - Thanks hope to see you on the river soon! Okiguyfox - I bring two rods with me. One is setup with a float. It has 12 lbs Berkley mainline. The one in the picture is setup to drift. It has 30 lbs braid on it that I was trying out for Summer run Steelhead this year. Braid is a little weird if you are not use to it, but I like it because I can cast further with light weights C_saeteurn - Thanks. Lots of fish through the system today. Allentown is just one spot. I went up river later in the day. Found fish everywhere. Getting them to bite is another story! .

Nice fish and report tele! @ seattlesteban- depending on where you are fishing it has a lot to do with the tide and how much water is moving through the area you are fishing! I do best where I fish on the outgoing to slack~

Tele,

it was a great day out on the river--especially for my first time fishing the Duwamish/Green system. Thanks for all the pointers and insight! Look forward to fishing with you on future outings!

Seattlesteban - Salmonbarry is right. It varies a lot depending upon where you fish and water conditions. Salmonbarry - Thanks! Always enjoy your reports. Hope to meetup with you and fish one of these days. Drsafl17 - Had a blast. We'll have to get out again soon.
