10/27/2014 10:25:00 AMAs for the seventh fish I'm baffled I didn't catch that before. My neighbors tagged along on this trip (main reason for the minivan), not sure how one of theirs ended up in the picture but I can assure you only twelve fillets made it into the freezer lol.

They look pretty dang beat! It was less than a week ago I was seeing dime-bright coho being pulled out of lower Snohomish river. Do you guys/gals think they've been hanging in the lower Sky or do you think they went this bad/red in just 1 week?

10/27/2014 10:46:00 AMAnybody fishing Prison Hole? I was SHOCKED this morning when I saw how high the river was at LOW tide at the riffle! I went there to collect lures at 2am at the -2.4 tide. Waited until 3:20am and the tide never really dropped. It was 4-6 feet higher than it should have been (equivalent to a +4-5 foot tide). I guess all the rain negated the tidal effect.

10/27/2014 10:50:00 AMThe flooding pushed a lot of fish way upriver Pat. If you run up the river more the effects of the flooding starts to become less drastic and there are holes that are still fishable.

10/27/2014 12:15:00 PMThey weren't one hour trips, more like 3-4, hence what "a few hours" means.
Redliner, I usually use a 2-3 ft leader except when the rivers a bit more flooded. When the river's really flowing I'll bump it up to around 5 ft to account for the current. If I know they're sitting in a snaggy I'll throw an extra corky on and peg it near the hook to keep things moving.

10/27/2014 12:55:00 PMHey Munch and others alike. As many sky anglers know the salmon go through a cycle of life when the enter the river. It is ideal too catch these fish when the are still fresh and have lots of fight in them. It is not so ideal to fish for them when they've reached their final resting grounds to lay eggs and die. So to help promote te accuracy of this site, do not post outstanding fishing conditions when you were fishing in areas that should really be left alone in respect to the fish who traveled so far to get there.
