i hit the snohomish early this morning, got there around 7am. mr. butler was already there with 1 fish in his cooler. we both twitched jigs for a bit over an hour with nary a hit to be had. very few rollers, not surprising though, it was high slack, at the beginning of receding tide. i decided to go on a fly rod scouting trip up by reiter to kill time, so i did that, nary a fish to be had. arrived back at my hole at 2 pm, perfect timing.. i fished low slack to incoming, and that was the ticket. big schools of fish started showing, rolling all over the place, lots of hook ups, landed and bonked the first 4 fish i caught because i was using scent. i saw 1 other fish caught between 6 people at the hole today. there were plenty of fish to be had. my set up: 6-12lb medium light action twitching rod (6'6") 10# maxima ug, pink/white 1/4oz jig, twitched, the head and thread only scented with sandshrimp oil** this seemed to make a big difference. if your not fishing on the bottom, your not fishing. if you notice tons of fish passing by within range of your lure and you cant get a bite, your doing something wrong, theyre not lockjaw, very bitey in fact. good luck, hope this helps.

Most folks like to think its best to fish high tide in a river but I prefer low tide as jonb experienced why. To me it seems like the fish are on the move and not as interested in biting as they are waiting for the incoming tide to they will tend to hold more and get more bitey. Same scenario upriver in the fall when it rains fish will begin to move upriver but as soon as the river begins dropping again it usually fishes better as the fish as beginning to hold

Hahha dude we are putting on a damn show out there. I caught my limit right in front of a boat that only had 1 in over 4 hours of fishing. All about the proper twitch. See you tomorrow!!!
