Got the boat in the water by 11:00. Fished Douglas Bar with black/purple and black/crimson hoochies, blue and red fox, and 50/50 dick nights. No luck. Gave up at 5:00. My son's friend caught a pink on a pink hoochie but it was too ripe to keep. Lots of Zombie pinks swimming the river.

Most folks around us were fishing eggs but weren't catching anything. I'll have to give eggs a try next time because I heard eggs worked well in the morning. Now to figure out how to fish with eggs.

We were fortunate to catch a lot of pinks when the season opened. My son caught 4 fish with one cast - he snagged someone's stringer that was floating down the river. Two were still very much alive so he released them. The other two were great eats.

Here is how to rig for eggs in simple terms:
1) Bobber stop on your main line. This allows you to adjust your presentation of eggs up or down to the depth of the hole and in the face of the fish. I like the rubber ones.
2) Bead to protect the top of the bobber.
3) Bobber.
4) Another bead to protect the bottom of the bobber and your knot.
5) Swivel
6) Weight clipped onto the swivel.
7) Leader, tie this onto the other end of the barrel swivel, the same loop that the clip goes through. This creates a three-way swivel for you.
9) 2/0 or whatever preferred hook tied with a bait loop. Lots of youtube videos to learn this knot.
10) Attach about a quarter size ball of eggs onto the hook and secured with the bait loop.
11) Fish.

Thanks hookset'n.
How long would the leader be?
Would you use a weight that's light enough to bounce along the bottom with the current or have the float adjusted so the weight doesn't touch the bottom?
Already can't wait to go fishing!
