Went out to my secret little lake to get in one more full day of fishing in before I start working two jobs. Took my kid and my fishing buddy out. Caught about 45 fish between the 3 of us. Caught 6 over 2 pounds and one that tipped the scale at 6# and 3 at 4#. The 4's and 6 were big females moving up to spawn and why I caught those the kid and my buddy were catching the males off the other side of the boat. My son had one on that was at least 5# but caught it on his baitcaster (second trip for him using it) He made about 3 cranks at the fish came up and looked at him and gave him back his jig. He was really bummed out so we found another bed with a male on it sat and worked him for about 5 minutes and he got him in the boat with some assistance. Sorry about the pictures my camera died and I had to take them with my cell phone. All fish were released to finish spawning.

Its only about 250 acres. But what is nice is all of the locals think there is only trout and blue gill in there. So the bass don't get pounded on. It makes for great fishing. We have been out there 6 times this year and have boated 250+ fish total from a 1/8 lb to 6 lbs on everything you can think of.

Yeah this is the only lake that I have now where we can catch them like this. It's kinda sad you know. There was another lake out by this one were it was the same way 30 to 60 in a day. Then last year we went back and could not even get one fish to bite. Not sure what happen to it but it is dead.

I used to catch alot in st. clair went there the other day and caught one bass about 5 in long, pressure does alot of damage, extreme pressure I should say and I notice alot of certain kind of people keeping all fish caught, 1inch to 10lbs it dont matter they keep all fish and ignore all game rules and fill buckets with fish, use 2 hooks ect.... I've seen it all it seems the last 3 years mostly, and play dumb when they are caught. it's gonna get nothing but worse.

Yeah I agree I havent been to St. Clair for that reason since the begining of this year. Yeah they need to enforce the rules a little better than they do. I talked to a guy that has lived on St. Clair for 35 years and said they used to catch 8 to 10 pounders all of the time when he first moved onto the lake. It is pretty messed up how stupid people just destroy stuff.

It's not just the lakes they get, my friend works for the state fish hatcheries and talks to the game wardens alot and these people are getting to the salmon, stergeon, he told me they nailed alot of these people on the columbia, not just once either then instead of learning their lesson they would then catch small sturgs, y'know 20-35 inchers and as fast as they could chopped up the fish put them in their cooking pots chucked the rest in the river. just plain sicking, wow we have really turned this post into a gripe mode and forgetting you caught some great fish. sorry about that I get carried away on this.

It's all good It"s nice to know that there are others out there who have the same frustrations that I have. But that is the main reason I quit posting in the normal section of this website and started posting under the secret lakes section. I would post and the next day there would be 20 boats out there catching and keeping everything they could get. I don't mind telling people like yourself and others on this site that I know will take care of the places they go but not everybody anymore.
